Spurrier hires new WR Coach

Columbia, SC - It did not take University of South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier long to fill one of the two offensive vacancies on his staff.

Spurrier hired former Mississippi State assistant head coach Woody McCorvey on Tuesday to coach the Gamecocks’ wide receivers.

The hire means that Steve Spurrier Jr., who coached USC’s receivers the past four seasons, now will handle the team’s quarterbacks.
